The Wee Folks of Washtenaw & Talman, founders of this great parade, along with the South Side Irish Parade Committee, would like to announce the 2025 South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade has returned! Tradition Marches On! According to a well-researched 2024 Block Club Chicago feature by Linze Rice, the first St. Patrick’s Day parade in Chicago was held in 1843 and included citizens, a band and a military group of US President-elect Donald Trump, center, and former First Lady Melania Trump arrive for mass at St. Johns Church ahead of the 60th presidential inauguration in Washington, DC, US, on Monday, Jan Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off at 12:15 p.m. at Balbo and Columbus Drive proceeding north to Monroe Street. The parade will be broadcast live by ABC 7 Chicago. Expect street closures as early as 8 a.m. including Columbus Drive from Roosevelt Road to Wacker Drive and east/west streets in those boundaries.
